Cubs fall to Brewers in a testy one

The Milwaukee Brewers bested the Cubs 8-3 today sending each team to an even 1-1 record.

Yu Darvish got roughed up a bit allowing six hits and three earned runs over four innings while striking out five and walking none. One of the runs was caused after the Cubs got Lorenzo Cain in a rundown, but yet managed to not get him out and he would end up coming around to score.

The Cubs struck first when Willson Contreras drove in Anthony Rizzo, who had walked, with an RBI single off of Corbin Burnes. They would be shut down until Kyle Schwarber blasted a two-run home run but that would be their offense for the day.

The Brewers did most of their damaged off the Cubs bullpen. Duane Underwood Jr, Brad Wieck (two), and James Norwood (two) all allowed runs including home runs to Christian Yelich and Justin Smoak.

The game got a little testy early on as Javier Baez did not take too kindly to being hit with a pitch in the first inning and stared down the Brewers starter. After the 3rd inning there would be a slight disruption as both dugouts could be seen yelling at each other, and even had both sides having players leave the dugout. This is a result of both teams being able to hear the other dugout much clearer.

The Cubs and Brewers finish up the series tomorrow at 1:20, Tyler Chatwood will take the mound against Freddy Peralta.
