The season will be 60 games long and it will bring the designated hitter to the National League. The agreement will also bring the controversial extra inning rule where any extra inning will begin with a runner at second base.
According to Jon Heyman each teams schedule would consist of 40 games against their divisional opponents and 20 games against their cross league counterpart. For the Cubs this would mean games against the AL Central (Indians, Royals, Tigers, Twins, White Sox).
Although the circumstances of all this is not ideal, and is likely a set up to a huge labor fight after the current CBA expires in 2021. It is baseball at the very least so embrace the chaos, and enjoy the 60 game sprint.
